Okay guys I was scrolling through Youtube today and came across a video about a dating website for beautiful people. The video tells that when you go in for a free membership you are voted by existing members of the website whether you are pretty enough to be part of the website or not.
Horrible I know.
This caused me to start a little social experiment. Am I pretty enough for these ‘beautiful people’? Probably not but I joined the website anyway and got on with the questions. I had to answer the normal things like height and hair color but had to give my weight as well, usually there is a ‘Prefer not to say’ option but not on this website which made me more inclined to hate it but I gave a weight and went on. I choose a recent photo of myself at my friends wedding. I think its a surprisingly good picture of me but that may be shot down rather quickly. I now have a 48 hour waiting period and an online vote tracker to see how people are voting me shockingly as I just checked a few minutes ago I’m ‘good enough’ but there is another two days before the final verdict .Part of me is a little annoyed that I have done this to myself because I am giving these people what they want but I do want to see if the way beauty is perceived is different than they way I think society perceives it. If I actually get accepted I am not sure what I will do..probably leave..yeah that’s the best thing to do.
